The installation of the Swift Mark II wind turbine requires the coordinated services of a licensed professional engineer, a licensed master electrician, and installers who are trained and certified by the manufacturer, Cascade Engineering Inc.
Licensed professional engineering services are provided by John Battaglia, P.E., M.B.A. He and his team of engineers maintain professional engineering licenses in six states including New York. In order to obtain a building permit to erect a small wind turbine, municipal governments require engineered drawings that detail how the turbine is to be mounted, a site plan showing the distance from the turbine to power lines, roads and other structures, and a determination as to the structural integrity of the installation, whether its pole mounted or structure mounted.
Installation services are performed by Ted VanDeusen. Ted has been trained and certified by Cascade Engineering Inc. to install the Swift Mark II wind turbine. Ted is a professional builder and manager of construction projects, including the successful on time and on budget completion of LEED certified buildings at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY and at the SUNY @ Buffalo campus in Amherst, NY.
